Innovating for Tomorrow, Today.
Welcome to Muskoka Research Inc., where function meets form. Established in 2018, we've grown from a humble beginning of designing and selling 3D files for printing enthusiasts, to a hub of technological breakthroughs and award-winning collaborations.
How We Got Here...
Starting Our Journey
Muskoka Research was not just founded - it was born out of a deep-seated passion for 3D printing, dating back to 2012. Starting with a simple yet ambitious goal: to design, develop, and sell 3D files for 3D printing enthusiasts.
Responding to Global Needs
When the world faced an unprecedented challenge during the COVID-19 pandemic, we shifted gears. Our focus turned to aiding frontline care workers in Canada and the Northern USA. We rapidly 3D printed thousands of face masks, addressing the dire PPE shortage. Collaborating with hospitals in the Greater Toronto Area, we developed swift solutions for the unforeseen problems brought by the pandemic.

2019
Path to Innovation
We initiated the patent process for a groundbreaking ergonomic wrist rest device Palmii, marking our foray into product innovation. Designed as a portable, foldable wrist rest for remote work and gaming, Palmii was a direct response to the new normal of the pandemic era.
2020
Manufacture Connections
Production began for Palmii, which enhanced our patent application efforts. Our vision materialized into a portable, foldable wrist rest that would become a staple for home offices, hybrid work-spaces and gaming setups worldwide.
2021
This was a landmark year. We achieved certified professional status for mechanical design and design-for-manufacturing under Autodesk. Our evolution continued as we ventured into contract services, offering mechanical design, rendering, 3D scanning, and more. Our collaboration with Visualize It Inc. brought the Yorkdale Mall Santa's Winter Garden and Pet Studio to life, winning an ICSC award.
Palmii was officially launched as a patent-pending product, reaching customers on multiple continents. Its all-North American production highlighted our commitment to onshoring, supporting local industries and maintaining high-quality standards.
2022
The Watershed & USPTO
Flooding in Southern Ontario initiated our commitment to developing environmental technology with RIPPL, a cutting-edge solution for monitoring watershed metrics in Southern Ontario. This project underscores our dedication to applying our expertise for environmental monitoring and sustainability.
Mid-2023 was a celebratory period as we were granted our first USPTO utility patent for the Palmii program. This achievement marked a significant milestone in our journey of innovation.
Early 2023
Expanding Frontiers
Responding to our roots in additive manufacturing, we inaugurated SHAP3D.xyz, our in-house division specializing in various 3D printing technologies. This reflected our goal of diversifying our in-house manufacturing capabilities.
Vision for the Future
Our latest venture is the UGV program, where we're exploring groundbreaking applications for autonomous vehicles, demonstrating our commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements.
Late 2023
